If you are looking for a new lens I’d recommend a site I just found, they have a huge database of lenses and breaks it down for you based on your budget, camera type, and style of photography. The reviews are quick and concise with just the right information. The only thing that is odd to me is that it lists lens max focal lengths as a negative the smaller it is. This is misleading, especially with wider prime lenses where it shows the min focal length as a plus and their max as a negative. On the plus side it does not only list lenses from the manufacturer, it also lists lenses with the same mount from other manufacturers. If you are currently in the market for a new lens I’d check out LensHero.com

Following up my previous two posts on The Great Boston Burlesque Expo The third night of the event featured both the Newcomers’ Showcase as well as The Sideshow Ball. The photos for today feature three performers from the Newcomers’ Showcase.

The first photo is of Lacy Gazelle a member of the Babes in Boinkland in her first solo performance ever. It was wonderfully choreographed and with the confidence she showed, I would have never guessed it was her first solo.

The next photo is of Sienna Sinclaire. Sienna is an internationally known model who has been performing Burlesque for about one year. Her entire biography is available at her site.

The final performer featured in this post is Izébel Vivant, a member of Alpha Psi Ecdysia. doing a great piece about all that women go through to be seen as beautiful.

The first one is the winner of Best Solo Performer 2009 as well as a Legends Choice Award from Tiffany Carter, She’s The Incredible, Edible, Akynos The other photo is of Stormy Knight who has been a major hit at previous DragonCons

Last month I had the pleasure to photograph The Great Boston Burlesque Expo
This was a wonderful event with three nights of entertainment. The photos in today’s post are both from the first night of the event dubbed the Rhinestone Revue and feature Jo Boobs headmistress of the New York School of Burlesque and a member of The Babes in Boinkland I apologize I didn’t get your name, if someone reading this does know this performer’s name please comment and I will edit this post)

When Burlesque Noir preformed on November 15th they had special guest performers including local boylesque performer Satyricon. He had performed with Burlesque Noir in the past at Nekkid and Nerdy and it was good to watch him preform again.

On November 15th Burlesque Noir had a performance at The Launchpad
As always they were fantastic and kept the crowd cheering for the length of the show.
I always enjoy photographing these shows for the amount and energy and time these girls put into their performance as well as their creative costumes.
The first photo is of guest performer Savannah Bloom while the other two are images of members of Burlesque Noir.

In mid-June my father and I took a trip to the Bisti Wilderness Area for a couple days of photography.

This is our third trek out there and I’ve had a great time, and come home with unique photos, every time.

While at the site of the old Bisti Trading Post I happened upon two lizards…they were the most gracious of models staying still and watching me until I had gotten all the photos of them that I wanted.

Of course it’s not the moon, it’s night photography at Bisti. It was a full moon and I think it worked well as a black and white with added grain.

Last night I had the pleasure of shooting a rodeo for the first time. While I got some action shots I liked I really like this first picture. A calm moment between events.

It didn’t last long, soon the gates opened and it was time for some team roping.

Actually I’m in Jersey City, NJ just across the river from New York…and man is it a terrific view!
My wife and I stayed in New York for one evening and have been in Jersey City for two nights, and on our next trip we have decided we will be staying in Jersey City the entire trip. With 24 hour transportation I can’t think of any reason not to.
